Improving the Courtyard: Drainage, Trees, and Green Space

The courtyard is one of the central shared spaces at Rockwell Gardens, and we see a lot of potential to improve both its function and appearance.

Over time, several issues have developed that we are now addressing:

  • Areas where water does not drain properly
  • Sections with little or no grass
  • Trees that have grown in ways that limit light and access

As part of upcoming work, you may notice:

  • Tree trimming and cleanup to improve light, safety, and access
  • Improvements to gutters and drainage, helping water flow away properly
  • Preparation for new grass growth in currently bare areas

Some of this work is also necessary to allow access for roof improvements on upper sections of the buildings.

The end goal is a courtyard that is:

  • Cleaner
  • Easier to maintain
  • More usable for residents

We believe this space can become a much stronger asset for the community.
